The School of Marxism is a secondary teaching and management institution directly under the leadership of the university, and it is the supporting unit of the School's Marxist theory subject. The school of Humanities and Social Sciences was established in 2001. In April 2011, the Teaching and Research Department of Ideological and Political Theory was independently set up. In May 2013, the school of Marxism was renamed.The college is in charge of the reform and construction of ideological and political theory courses for undergraduates, masters and doctoral students. For undergraduate students, the school offers public courses such as Introduction to the Basic Principles of Marxism, Outline of Modern and Contemporary Chinese History, Introduction to MAO Zedong Thought and The Theoretical System of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics, Ideological and Moral Cultivation and Legal Basis, Situation and Policy, and related elective courses. Public courses such as Dialectics of Nature, Research on the Theory and Practice of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics, And Marxism in China and Contemporary Times are offered to postgraduate and doctoral students.
There are 37 faculty members, including 3 professors, 18 associate professors, 15 lecturers and 1 assistant library. The college consists of 5 teaching and research sections, 3 research institutes (centers) and 3 service organizations. There are five sections: The Teaching and research Section of Basic Principles of Marxism, the Teaching and research Section of MAO Zedong Thought and The Theoretical System of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics, the Teaching and research Section of The Outline of Modern and Contemporary Chinese History, the Teaching and research Section of Ideological and Moral Cultivation and Legal Basis, and the Teaching and research Section of situation and Policy. Three research institutes (centers) : Institute of The History of Science and Technology, Center for Marxism and "Agriculture, Rural areas" and Center for Political Parties in South and Southeast Asia. There are three service offices: Party and People's Office, General Office, Academic Degree and Graduate Education Office.
The college has 1 first-level master's degree program in science and technology history, and 4 second-level master's degree programs in Basic Principles of Marxism, History of Science and Technology, History of Chinese Local Agricultural Science and Technology, and History of Science and Technology of Ethnic Minorities. There are more than 60 postgraduate students in the school.
The college has clearly put forward the idea of teaching as the foundation, scientific research as the support, disciplines as the leader, teachers as the core, and Party building as the guarantee, and has actively promoted the construction of a teaching and research college. Through the joint efforts of all the teachers, remarkable achievements have been made in teaching reform, scientific research project approval, team building, party building and other aspects.
